About Gary

Gary Biggers is a person in long-term recovery, who first came to Voices of Hope to attend mutual aid meetings in 2019. In March 2021, Gary began his employment with Voices of Hope as a Recovery Coach deployed at Fayette County Specialty Court. Following his work as a Recovery Coach, Gary was promoted to Lead Recovery Coach and then to the role of Criminal Legal Systems Program Coordinator for Wave 2 of the HEALing Communities Study. He is now the Operations Manager for the Voices of Hope Recovery Community Center in Lexington KY where he manages a staff of 8 people and has overseen a variety of grants. Gary has contributed to academic presentations on the linkage and retention programs. He has been invited to speak on several panels across the state of Kentucky about Medications for Opioid Use Disorder (MOUD), Harm Reduction, and Substance Use Disorder. Gary has a passion for helping people and working in the recovery community. He also enjoys traveling the world and playing video games.
